They welcome Father Ed Reading, a licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor who serves in specialized ministry "healing the healers." Ordained in 1972, he has been serving as a worker priest in professional settings while providing weekend pastoral services to parishes. Father Reading is a distinguished Catholic Charities board member who worked at Straight and Narrow in the 1970s. He has been an addiction professional since 1969, is a member of several national and international organizations, and has taught addiction studies at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. He has lectured to medical and pastoral professional groups throughout the United States and Canada.
